Description: Viewed from the NNW from the end of Gladstone Street. Showing Hallcroft Girls' School (right of centre) and the former St Mary's School (left). The building in the foreground to the right is Gladstone boys school, then through the gates is the former Hallcroft girls school which by the 1960's had been amalgamated with the Hallcroft boys school to be a mixed school, officially Hallcroft secondary technical school for those who passed their 11-plus. At this time the buildings on the left were the science labs. It is believed the old St Marys school were in the grounds of St Marys church which would be at the very far end of the photo and not actually visible in this picture. This former school was used by Hallcroft as the gym and overspill classrooms.
