Description: All Saints Church is said to be one of the smallest in England (it measures 26ft by 25ft). The core of the structure which includes the church and an attached house is believed to have been the infirmary chapel and infirmary belonging to Dale Abbey. Prior to 1820 the house portion (seen here) was a pub called the Blue Bell.
This view shows the southern elevation and is looking north-east. It shows the church and house prior to their rebuilding in 1880-81 at which time the latter lost its thatched roof. Two single storey ancillary buildings are visible here, also thatched. That on the left is the bakehouse, while to the right is the brewhouse with a well behind the fence.
