Description:
Dominating the shrine is the striking figure of St. Michael. He is traditionally regarded as the Patron of all who work in dangerous places - so here beneath him are the miner's lamp and the inset piece of coal from Ireland colliery symbolising the parish's major industry. The statue is a further example of the work if Mr. Ludwig Kuzniarz. At the prie-dieu you will find a prayer you may like to offer for all who work in the mines.
