Description: A view looking north up the valley of the River Dove from Coldwall Wood, near Blore.
In the distance the River Manifold joins the Dove from the left, while right of centre the higher ground marks the entrance to Dovedale. In the foreground the river is crossed by Coldwall Bridge, a lengthy structure dating back to 1726. This was formerly part of a coach road linking Thorpe (off to the right here) with Blore, but which is today reduced to little more than a farm track.
