About this image
A north bound train can be seen approaching (note: still a diesel), the lines disappearing to the right went to Bottesford to join the Nottingham-Grantham line. In 1991, the line was rarely used except for four or five oil tanker trains a day and the odd royal train. The line was finally lifted and abandoned in summer 1988.
