About this image
This view is looking north towards Ouzelden Bridge, exposed amid the accumulations of silt due to the Derwent Reservoir being virtually empty because of drought. Until the rebuilding of the packhorse bridge from Derwent village at Slippery Stones following the construction of Ladybower Reservoir, Ouzelden was the first and most northerly bridge across the River Derwent. The stream in the foreground is Ouzelden Brook, a tributary of the Derwent.
The photographer titled this view "Old Rd Bridge uncovered in Derwent Dam by Drought.'
