Looking north-west with the Ferodo Friction Linings works in the centre. Hayfield Road runs from the right to the top of the picture, where it passes beneath the twin viaducts at Chapel Milton - these form part of a triangular junction between the ex-Midland Railway Hope Valley and Derby-Manchester lines. Stodhart Lodge can be seen in the trees to the east of Hayfield Road, while Market Street / High Street traverses the bottom of the view. St Thomas a Becket's Church can also be seen.
