Dorothy Vernon's Bridge seen from the terraced gardens of Haddon Hall. According to the Listing description (the bridge was Listed Grade II in 1967), the structure was built as a footbridge in the 17th century and derives its name 'from the legend that Dorothy Vernon escaped over this bridge to elope with her lover during the festivities of her sister's wedding'.
