Marshall, Temple Normanton, and Miss Lydia Watkinson, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Watkinson, 70, Searston Avenue, Holmewood. The bride was given away by her father and attended by Miss N. Bamford, Margaret Watkinson (sister) and Miss Greta Garfoot (niece of bridegroom). The service was choral and a hymn was sung, Mr. R. Valentine being organist. Miss Shiela Garfoot presented the bride with a wooden spoon. Mr. G. Godfrey was best man. Among the presents was an electric clock and cake stand from the maintenance staff of the Hardwick Colliery and Coke Ovens, where the bridegroom is employed as a welder, and a cut glass and fruit set from the staff of the Home and Colonial stores, where the bride is employed. A reception was held at the home of the bride, upwards of 40 guests attending, and the honeymoon is being spent at Bridlington'.
