About this image
Nottingham Castle [Inn] was built c1550, although the section in this picture was erected c 18th Century. It was demolished in 1962. Proprieter here is Charles Potts.. ? On the right is shown the junction with St Michael's Lane. The notice below the street sign reads 'William Wilson Authorised Plumber, Gasfitter, Glaziers & .... '. Also shown, above this are adverts as follows: 'C. Glann White, Upholsterer, Drawing and Dining Room, Suite Manufacturer'.
St Alkmund's church was demolished in 1967 to make way for the new inner ring road.
