Cranford south side quarries sometime in the 1930s. The Bucyrus steam shovel was built in south Milwaukee USA and commenced work at Cranford in 1919. it weighted 293 tons, jib length of 85 feet. it was the largest type of steam shovel in the world at the time of its construction. It worked until 1958.
