About this image
'It's time to let the old place go...it's falling down 'round me...let someone else have the worry of it. I've been working here for forty odd years, since I left school, I don't suppose it will be a working farm again when I go. I hope whoever gets it will have young 'uns here, the old place needs new life' (Peter Melbourne, Moor Cottage Farm). Here Peter is seen reading a scrap of paper that has fallen from the loft. 'Nothing can stay the same way forever...everything changes, that's the way it is. Maybe when everything's gone I can buy a caravan and go touring.' From 'This Place', images featuring the working communities of rural Derbyshire: a photographic essay. To purchase limited edition signed handprints visit www.katebellis.com.
