The Jubilee bridge can be seen crossing the river. It was an iron bridge of 85 feet span and was constructed in 1887 for the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria, at a cost of £230, connecting the promenade with Lovers' Walk, the Promenade was laid out at the same time at a cost of £700. The promenade is now called Memorial Gardens.
