About this image
This postcard picture was not dated, but the style of clothing and fashions suggest c 1900's-10's. It was possibly a Whitsuntide Sunday Church parade. (There are banners which look like they portray scenes of the life of Jesus). There is a banner which says 'Childrens' Home Chesterfield'. Or perhaps the event could be for something else, like the Miners' Gala, 1902, or Empire Day which was celebrated for many years in June around this period, or perhaps for the Coronation of King Edward VII or George V.
