This view shows the library decorated for the 75th anniversary of Ilkeston Borough Council. Towards the left, at the rear, is the former Sudbury Factory built c 1881-82, used in 1962 by Rutland Garments. Note the use of the Market Place as a bus terminus. Viewed from the north west.
The buses parked on the Market Place are left to right a Plaxton bodied AEC Reliance, all Leyland TD7, Saunders Roe bodied saloon belonging to Trent and a Leyland PD1 with a unique to Barton's a front entrance Duple body. (Information kindly supplied by Roger Broughton).
