About this image
Looking north with Little Hallam Hill running across the lower part of the picture and Little Hallam Farm in the centre below this. To the left is the alignment of the ex-Great Northern Railway Stanton branch (closed in 1968) with the bridge over the road recently demolished. Track is still in situ on the south side, ending at bufferstops - this was retained until 1974 to provide a backshunt for access to the Ore Preparation Plant at Stanton Works but fell into disuse following closure of the blast furnaces at the Works. Spinney Road and Nursery Hollow occupy the top of the picture.
