Sluices and headrace serving former paint works, Cromford, 1940s-50s
Cromford Corn Mill
About this image
The sluices and footbridge spanning the leat or headrace serving a one-time paint works on Water Lane, Cromford (later occupied by David Tye's motor business). Off picture to the left is Cromford Corn Mill, which had a separate water supply from the same millpond seen here. The Bonsall Brook, coming down the Via Gellia, provided the water for both the corn mill and paint works.
