There was formerly a chantry chapel of St. John in Staveley parish, founded by the Frecheville family for the use of the manor; the revenues in the reign of Edward VI were estimated at £2 13s 4d per annum. Pevsner describes the building as Medieval. This photograph was taken after restoration work was completed on the building.
