About this image
The station opened in 1892. The line originally ran to Lincoln, Sheffield and Manchester. In 1897 it became part of the Great Central Railway linked to London via Nottingham. The line closed in 1963 and the wooden station demolished in 1967. The A61 Chesterfield by-pass now follows the line of the former railway station.
