About this image
This photo was taken in the large casting shop at Butterly Foundry in the 1970s. The man standing holding the chain is the moulding shop forman Harry Cuttel who lived on Butterly Hill. The man next to him on the right is Jim Wheatcroft who lived at Crich, he used to have a fish and chip shop in Crich village. The man next to him on the right is Tim Castledine the foundry manager, next to him on the right is Jack Alcock foundry charghand. Information kindly supplied by Graham Morgan who worked with these men in the foundry in the 1970s.
