A typed note attached to the original of this photo reads 'Snap yesterday. Passed by Censor today for Publication. The Peak District of Derbyshire. The Last Load of harvest.'
There is no indication of the location but the fact that the picture had been passed for publication by the Censor confirms the photo dates from the Second World War.
This view is one of two similar but not identical prints cropped by the photographer from the same negative (see also PTPD300057).
Can anyone identify the location, which is clearly in limestone country?
