About this image
The photographer's original notes read 'A Cold Job' and 'Snap in Via Gellia Valley, Derbyshire.' His stamp on the back of the print reveals he was a 'Full Member' of the Institute of British Photographers.
The sheepwash was located on the north side of the main road down the Via Gellia at a point where it crosses the stream just west of the junction with Wood Lane. Today it is no longer used and heavily overgrown.
