About this image
The Devonshire Arms, situated at the junction of the A623 (to Chesterfield and Bakewell) with roads to Castleton and Chapel-en-le-Frith.
The sign on the pub indicates it is 'Fully Licensed' and that the licensee is Mary E Wilshaw. 'Guinness is Good For You' features to the left of the entrance door, while adjoining this is a timetable display for the North Western Road Car Company and a wall letterbox.
The photographer's original caption for this view read: 'The old Inn in the Moorlands, Sparrow Pit, Derbyshire.'
By 2015 the Devonshire Arms had been renamed The Wanted.
