The Peacock Hotel at the junction of Bakewell Road and Church Lane. The building was built in 1652 (the date is on the tympanum over the entrance door) as a manor house but has been used as a hotel since the 1830s. It forms part of the Haddon Estate and was listed in 1951 (Grade II-star). The standard AA (Automobile Association) sign on the right indicates 'Rowsley' and 'Hotel'.
