About this image
The photographer's original caption for this view reads: '"Labour" interviews the South Wales miner in his house on Kinder Scout (see enclosed report).'
The 'enclosed report' has not survived so the exact significance of this view is unclear. Can anyone explain why a miner from South Wales would be living on a remote area of moorland in Derbyshire, whereabouts 'on Kinder Scout' his abode was located, and why he would be visited and interviewed by two smartly attired 'Labour' politicians?
