About this image
Old Fillyford Bridge looking north-west, with its replacement to the left. The bridge spans the River Wye.
The photographer's original caption for this image reads:
'Cut off by a new Wall.
The Famous humped Bridge near Haddon Hall, Derbyshire is now closed.
It is the oldest in the district and was built over the ancient Ford, now replaced by another wider 'humped' Bridge.
TO BE PRESERVED AS A RELIC.'
The bridge still stands (2016) on the north side of the present A6 just short of the junction with Stantonhall Lane. It has been listed Grade II since 1985.
