About this image
A group of men with picks (and one with a shovel) clearing snow from a road at an unidentified location in the Derbyshire Peak District. The use of picks to break up the snow suggests it is frozen solid.
The photographer titled this view 'Its Snowing Again today', adding 'Clearing Blocked Rds Derbyshire.'
His stamp on the back of the original print reveals that Frank H Brindley was Secretary of the Institute of British Photographers. This organisation was founded in 1901 as The Professional Photographers' Association and in more recent times, following a third change of name, became The British Institute of Professional Photography.
