About this image
The original caption for this view reads:
'HIGH PEAK HUNT CHELMORTON - Attendance Spoiled by Cold Winds.
The Dull cold weather with high winds spoiled the attendance of members on Saturday at Meet at Chelmorton Moors, Derbyshire. Scent was poor. Photo shows Hunt climbing the Steep lane near Taddington to hunt the stone wall area above Chelmorton Village.'
The High Peak Hunt was established in 1848 by a Mr Thornhill of Stanton-in-the-Peak and its territory lies between Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne.
Finding this view on a modern map has proved difficult - it may be looking north-eastwards on the now severed Senners Lane but can anyone confirm, or suggest an alternative location?
