A bridge spanning the Manchester-Sheffield-Lincoln Railway, latterly the Great Central which closed in 1964. The Chesterfield Canal can be seen on the right, with a bridge crossing the water towards Field Lane. The bridge is known locally as Cat Gallows. The Bar in the village leisure centre named after the bridges is also called Cat Gallows. (Information kindly supplied by John Jennings).
