About this image
Colonel Edward Disbrowe (d. 1818), MP and vice-chamberlain to Queen Charlotte, married Lady Charlotte Hobart (d. 1798), fourth daughter of George Hobart, 3rd Earl of Buckinghamshire.
Vice-chamberlain to Queen Charlotte.
Descended from John Desborough, a senior commander in the Parliamentarian Army and brother-in-law to Oliver Cromwell.
The Disbrowe's inherited the new Walton Hall (built 1723) in 1777 from the last of William Taylor's sisters. William was the son of Richard Taylor who had bought the estate from John Ferres of Walton in 1680, and belonged to a family who had owned land here since about 1350.
