GHB Ward addresses ramblers to celebrate purchase of Ward's Piece by the National Trust. Lose Hill was also known as Ward's Piece after GHB Ward, famous rambler and access militant, was purchased by the National Trust in 1945.
George Herbert Bridges Ward (1876 - 14 October 1957) born in Sheffield. Ward was a famous rambler and access militant and founder of the Sheffield Clarion Ramblers, recognized as the first working class rambling club.
