Notes on back of contact sheet identify these soldiers as being from the Royal Sussex Regiment, which possibly means that this isn't a local scene at all. Other photographs in the collection have been identified as having been taken in the Matlock area. Another website user (Mike Briggs) has written in to suggest that these these could be Notts and Derby Battalion territorial soldiers as he has identified a few other pictures of this collection of being these soldiers. If this wasn't taken in Derbyshire, it's possible it may be Harpenden or Luton.
