Ravensdale Cottages, picturesque stone built dwellings also known as Bury-me-Wick, overlooked by Ravensdale Crag above. Built by William Newton in the 1820s at his own expense to house the professional workers at Cressbrook Mill and later nicknamed 'Newton's Folly'. The Photographer, Mr J L Sykes was a Manchester based painter.
