Owned by the Stancliffe Estate Co Ltd, it produced a fine sandstone. The Company was bought out in june 2001 by Marshalls. This photograph shows men dressing a large block next to a huge one which is 30ft long, 27ft wide, 12ft deep and contains 9,720 cubic feet of stone.
