Renee Drury is on the extreme left. Next to her are Mrs Ruby Barley and Miss Hewitt from Renshaw's Row, Lowgates. Showing John Turner's garage in the background. They are possibly celebrating the end of World War II in Europe. See DCCD000132-DCCD000150 for photographs of the parade. On 7th May 1945 General Jodl signed an unconditional surrender at Reims. However, the Second World War continued until the Japanese Army surrendered on 2 September 1945.
