Little Eaton Railway Crossing
Village Railway Crossing
About this image
This view is looking south towards Little Eaton Junction where the branch line to Ripley diverged from the main line from Derby to the north. The Ripley branch was double track from the main line as far as the crossing. but single line over the level crossing and beyond. The level crossing carried Duffield Road over the branch. The signalbox which closed on 2 March 1969 also controlled the access to the goods shed (out of sight on the left of the photo) and also the sidings to Dowding's Paper Mill (behind the photographer).
